KBW 2026 recap: Opening the Frontier in Seoul
By Michael Ho, Co-Founder D3

Korea Blockchain Week was a packed one for us at D3: we launched Frontier, spoke at three events, met a number of our community, and had a very good dinner. Here's how the week went this year.

Bridge Summit: where we opened the Frontier

Our first stop was Bridge Summit. At our booth, we introduced gochujang.com as the first creator domain on Doma, and walked people through the idea of tokenization: what it means for a domain to be tradable onchain, while staying fully DNS compliant.

I also took the stage to announce Frontier on Solana. That was the moment the program launched: Frontier is our membership program for the next round of internet extensions. Deposit with supported vault providers, earn Frontier points, and commit them to establish priority for names with participating registries, ahead of general registration. I announced it on stage, and to date we have over 51K+ members joined, opened the first vault on Solana with Loopscale, and 148 extensions live.

Be early to 1,000+ new internet extensions | Frontier
First internet expansion since 2012. Early .com and .xyz names minted winners. This round adds .agent, .sol, .labs, .hype, and 1,000+ more.

Solana Ecosystem Day: powering the Solana supercycle

On Monday afternoon, we headed to Solana Ecosystem Day, where I joined a panel called "Powering the Solana Supercycle," alongside Botanika. We talked about how D3 and Botanika are building the rails for what's next.

Solana Summit: Tokenized domains land on Solana

Next up was Solana Summit in Yeouido, Seoul. I gave a talk on stage about the domain supercycle coming to Solana, introducing tokenized domains as real-world assets (RWAs) landing on Solana, along with the Frontier program launch and its first vault on Solana, live via Loopscale. If you want the full story on the vault, we wrote it up here.

Closing the week with GOGIYA!

We closed KBW by hosting a dinner at the famous Samwon Garden. There was a lot of BBQ, our Korean network around the table, and our biggest community member Fireant, who recently launched gochujang.com and the gochu game. It felt like the right way to end the week, since gochujang.com was front and center at our booth on day one.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth, came to a talk, or pulled up a chair at dinner.
